I got the baby quilt back from Bonnie on Thursday. Cut the binding and sewed it into one long strip that night. Yesterday, I got up with the chickens and sewed it to the front. All ready to be turned and hand stitched down to the back. I worked periodically thru the day and for awhile after dark. But my energy runs low after dark-thirty. So, I put it away till this morning.
I was in the sewing room with my cuppa around 7:30am. And I got it all done by 11am. It's small enough that I could put it on the flannel wall for photos. I would have made the label but we don't know if prissy miss is going to decide on Zoey Marie or Piper Grace for her name. It sure would be convenient if she had whispered to Nana and let me know beforehand. Now, I must wait till the big day to find out.
It turned out quite nice. I used fabric from Julie Owens's Big Horn Quilts in Greybull, MT for the backing and the binding. It's so cute and perfect for a child's quilt. Bonnie Hunter in SC did her usual magic with her long arm machine and sent it back to me pronto. I guess you could say this quilt is a national effort.
Now, I'm pooped and would love a nap. But Miss Olivia called and begged a ride to the mall for her and some of her friends. And, oh yeah, could we go out to eat cuz she's starving? Guess the 2 of us will eat at Silver Springs Family Restaurant up in Silver Springs. We still call it Bob's even tho it hasn't been that in years. Easier to say.
And, hooray, my cowboys are on tonight. That would be the cowboys of the Professional Bullriding Association.
They are so cute. It's depressing to think that most of them are could be my grandchildren. Oh well. I enjoy watching anyway. I've been a rodeo freak since I could barely walk.
