Happy Spring!

Nobody is more happy than I to see spring and, hopefully, the last of the snow. I shouldn't complain as we really only had 2 big storms this season. The ghastly Valentine's Day storm (aka the glacier) and the one the day before St. Patrick's Day. The year of the holiday storms.

My new radio is working great guns. I can be a rolling boom box if my ears don't bleed. One neat feature that I discovered is there are 3 FM bands, 2 AM band and an AUX band. I've never been able to figure out what the AUX band is for on any piece of electronic equipment I have. Yet, they all have it. Hmm. Back to the FM bands, Ms. Olivia has been assigned her very own band. F3. Mine is F1, of course and I already have my country stations preset and The Rose which plays standards/oldies. Easy Listening some would call it.

I did a mixture of things yesterday. Scanned a few photos, went out to eat at Bob Evans with Phyllis & Olivia and finished sewing the quarter blocks on Strip Twist. And I'm almost done pressing them open. Cutting off the dog ears as I go. I know some people swear by keeping those to guide them but they just annoy me and don't help me line up anything. So, off with their heads, er ears!

After a bit of calculation, I found that I'm going to need a number more of the quarter squares. It's a good thing I've got lots of strips already cut. And some of those are in subsests of 2 already. Not nearly enough, of course. In quilting, nothing ever comes out even. A very good reason to buy lots more fabric than you think you'll need for your project. If you don't, sure as shooting you'll need more of it and it will have disappeared into the vast expanses of the universe and you'll never, ever find a thread of it again. Take my word on this.
