So, the new Plymouth Breeze is running sweet. I did take it back to the dealer as requested. He knew it had a leak of some sort. They still haven't found it. So, I'll take it back on March 5 to leave for a few days. Tim will give me a loaner so I won't be left high and dry. Or, as they say around here in PA Dutch country, it won't leave me sit. Got some interesting expressions around here, they do.
One family surprise this week was Shannon getting a new car. She got the Cougar back after a number of weeks in the shop. See earlier post for details on that little fiasco. She had gotten used to a 4 door car, ITM. One of her Starbucks customers is a car dealer. Well, several are as her store is deep in car lot territory. Thursday she drove home in a lovely 2002 VW Golf. I would never have picked this car as one she would like. But she does and it's a great car. Silver. In my head, I had pictured something like the Rabbit. Wrong, as usual. I got a ride in it on Friday and it was very comfortable.
I don't know about anybody else but I'm getting a bit restless for spring. Other than the storm that produced the glacier, we have had a fairly mild winter with little snow. I went by Long's Park the other day and the pond was frozen solid. For the first time in my 32 winters here, I saw no fowl of any sort. No ducks, geese or swans. I wonder where they hang out when the pond has no open water? We're talking 100's of creatures here.
Another odd thing was the pond had no layer of snow on it. It was a shiny as an indoor ice rink. Usually, the guys who play pick-up hockey, have to shovel off a playing area. This was really pretty. Here are the pictures to prove it.
View near where we feed the fish.
The gazebo out on the little picnic island.
Across the pond is one of the party pavilions.
