We Have Radio

Kimberly and Derrick came over this afternoon so he could install my radio I bought 3 weeks ago. They just left after we sat in the car while he showed me how everything works. Ulp. Everything is digital, of course. It has a cute little remote. He didn't put the mp3 plug in as there was really no room for it. It fastens into the back of the radio and the plug would have hung out separately from the radio if there had been room. Nuh uh. No thanks. Olivia can just plug her iPod into her little ears as she has always done. I don't want to listen to her so-called music anyway. So there.

Kim and I had a nice visit while Derrick was doing the installation. The baby isn't due till April 24. I hope she makes it that long. She is huge! The baby is all in front so that's making her back hurt when she stands a long time. She's still working 2 days a week at Blockbuster. She plans to quit around the middle of April. LOL I can just see her water breaking while she checking out a customer. I asked if there was another worker there when she was and she assured me that there was. Whew!

After a gloriously sunny couple of days, the rain has started in. Darn it! I have a bunch of cardboard boxes I want to put out for the Tuesday morning pick-up. But I don't want a bunch of soggy cardboard left for me to deal with. Maybe next Monday-Tuesday will be dry. We are supposed to be near 70F come Friday. That should make the snows melt even faster than they already are. I could hear it melting when I walked out to the car a bit ago.

I spent yesterday afternoon sorting thru my many, many photos for pictures of Michael. Naturally, I had to look a some on the way to finding those. This morning, I scanned them and burnt them to CD. I went to Walmart with the great intentions of getting prints made for him. Got all the way back to the photo department. Guess what? I left the @!!@# CD at home! So, I bought a couple of things that I needed and left. Went to the other side of the parking lot to see if Shannon was at work at Starbucks. She was. So, I went in and had a grande double white mocha. Yum. Visited with Shannon for a bit. Then, headed out for home. Was barely in the door till Kim called to see if it was convenient for them to come and install the radio. Heh heh. I got Derrick to haul 2 full garbage cans to the curb for me as they were leaving. That's 2 weeks in a row that I didn't have to do it.

Now, I'm tired. I spent half the night on the phone with Shannon who was lost in the wilds of PA around Harrisburg. Easy to do, I tell you. You can't hardly get there from here in Harrisburg. A lot of that has to do with the Susquehanna River. She crossed it 3 times on her way up and back. I don't know why she didn't take Phyllis's GPS with her. Duh. She didn't think of it till she was lost and headed for State College. Phyllis was upset when she heard what happened. She said she would have left it for Shannon if she'd just mentioned where she was going . I pulled up a map at Mapquest and guided her thru the various turns and loops that she had to make to get to Liverpool. At 2am, she called and was lost again. Scarier this time than it was in daylight. But I got her around the city and onto Rte 283. I figured she could take it from there. She could have driven a straighter path but it would have taken her thru the heart of the city at 2am. Not a good thing. It was better to make the loop around and stay on the Interstates and other major highways. Naturally, I couldn't go to sleep till I knew she was home. Or for a good while after that. Being a Nana is hard work sometimes. You'll notice she didn't call her mother. LOL Phyllis is extremely geographically challenged. If anyone ever needed a GPS, she is the one.

Maybe tomorrow I can sew. I can't think of any reason at all that I need to go out for anything or anyone. I want to finish sewing all the triangles together and start slapping them up on the flannel wall. Maybe then I can tell how many more I'll need to make a full or queen sized topper.
