HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!!!

A right old rip snorter of a nor'easter roared through the Mid-Atlantic yesterday. The official total is 11" but my weather-checking neighbor tells me we had 12". A lot either way. Maybe a mid-March storm? We do seem to get them.

I'm still waiting for Dennis to come around and shovel for me. He is the one who came a few days after the St. Valentine's Day storm. LOL Do I see a holiday storm theme going on here? Dennis called yesterday to say he would be up this morning to do my walk & drive. Not here yet. But that's OK. I'm not going anywhere. I'm sure he's working on his own place as some pretty heavy snow fell after he called.

I'm happy to report that he arrived as I was writing this and made short work of the white stuff. All except the car. I'm hoping warmer temps and Mr. Sun will do the job for me. I don't need to go out for a day or so. I intend to be sewing.

I sewed all day yesterday. I don't know how many strip sets I need to make Strip Twist bigger. So, I'm going to make a lot of blocks. They can always be used elsewhere. I have a bunch of quarter squares all cut and ready to sew together.

In case you want to see the design I'm working on (with a slight variation), here is the URL:

I'm using only 2 ecru fabrics as the light part. To make the even lighter, I am using the "wrong" side. As some quilter once said "There is no right or wrong side to a piece of fabric. You pay for both sides. So you can use them as you see fit." Works for me! Another reason I'm using the back side is I wanted to design on the fabric to be muted. It's still there but doesn't jump out at you. When I get a few blocks made, I'll post a picture so you can see what I'm doing.
